Each creative journey starts with surrendering to self and leaning into the Holy Spirit for guidance and inspiration.
I pray that you will find a message of faith and hope in Jesus for yourself in my artwork. - Kirk Billiter

About KirkĀ

My journey as an artist began in the aftermath of a life-changing event that left me searching for answers. After my marriage ended in divorce, I felt lost and alone. But I found comfort and healing through a DivorceCare support group and a trauma counselor. And when a friend invited me to a Christian Men’s Retreat Weekend, I reluctantly went along.

It was during that retreat that I was given a book called “My Heart, Christ’s Home” by Robert Boyd Munger. The book spoke to my wounded heart and soul, and I felt a spiritual “nudge” to create a painting for every room of my new home, to visually express the faith, hope and love I had in Jesus Christ. Although I had never painted before, I simply started and kept painting, learning, and exploring this new creative path.

I am a native of central Illinois and have spent my entire life within 40 miles of my hometown. I have a background in business management, having earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Besides my art, my other passion lies in writing about leadership, spiritual growth and personal development.

In my free time, I love to spend time at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri with my beautiful wife Rebecca, whom I met at a financial Bible class at church in 2005. We married the same year. We have a wonderful blended family of grown adult children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

For me, art is a reflection of my journey through life and a celebration of the beauty and hope that can be found in even the darkest moments. I hope that my paintings will bring comfort, healing, and inspiration to all who view them. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
