Scripture: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  – Matthew 6:19-21

As I count the COST this week in my Jesus following life, I am challenged by taking a soul inventory by answering the question, “What or who is my treasure?”

My painting tonight represents my coveting nature – always comparing myself to what others have (in the next block) or wanting earthly treasures others have.  Jesus reminds us to focus only on storing up treasures in heaven (represented in my painting by the 7 circles – which means complete) that can’t be stolen or destroyed.
