Complete Cost

Scripture: “When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. And Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.””  – ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:22-24‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Message: An obstacle is defined as a circumstance that causes difficulty or hesitation.  The words I too often hear or use myself when I am faced with worldly obstacles…. barrier, hurdle, stumbling block, impediment, hindrance, and my least favorite word (but my most often used)- CAN’T!  And I can’t stand that word CAN’T in my desire to follow Jesus. 

In the verses above – Jesus invites me into a personal relationship (being) with Him and be COMPLETE in Him by following Him and (doing) leaving my worldly possessions and everything else behind.  Yes, there is a cost to following Jesus!

As I ponder this statement, I recognize my circle of completeness is not there yet (identified in my painting).  My completeness in my Jesus following life is simply not there yet.  My prayer is that in the next months, I CAN continue to close that gap in my relationship (circle) with Jesus while counting the cost!  I hope you can too!
