Scripture: The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”  – Proverbs 20:5

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about the deep things of life. With all the trouble in this world, I find I must renew my mind daily to avoid “stinkin thinkin”! I have discovered this year that sharing time doing daily devotions with my wife, Rebecca, has been vital to my mindset as I prepare for my day.

While I renew my mind through daily devotions, Bible study, and prayer, I also get renewal through many other avenues too.

My heart’s hopes and dreams are often like cold water in a deep well; often hard to bring to the surface without lots of help.

I have multiple ways that I get to “deep waters”. First, I have a small group of men that I meet with weekly that have spiritual insights that I cherish deeply. I also have my church family that I lean on for all things.  I listen to sermons and podcasts to learn new ways to develop my mindset and my spirit. I have a business mentor to help me market my art and keep me focused. And lastly,  I see a professional counselor to help me bring life’s “ocean-deep” issues to the surface.

Each person provides deep insight and draws water out of my soul. I am forever thankful to God for each one of these individuals!
